Released early this year, the MartinLogan Vision Soundbar is MartinLogan‘s first foray into the soundbar market.
At first glance, the Vision already looks like a serious piece of equipment, unlike its thin, light and plastic peers. Weighing 20.5lbs and at nearly 6″ deep, the Vision is thicker than most soundbars too.
The Vision sports three 1” x 1.4” Folded Motion Tweeters and four 4” fiber cones. Each of the seven drivers has an independent digital amplifier, which combined can produce 100 watts (200 watts peak). Its back panel boasts 2 ports for added bass response, 2 optical, 1 digital coax, and 1 stereo audio input, as well as an AC jack and 1 subwoofer output. However, it is disappointing that it doesn’t have any HDMI inputs, AirPlay, Bluetooth or USB connectivity options.
Nonetheless the Vision delivers stunning detail and natural sound and is a pretty great soundbar with a surprising amount of bass. It outshines its peers when listening to music and does not fare too badly with movies either. Folks looking to turn their non-believer friends into soundbar fanatics will find the MartinLogan Vision Soundbar ideal.
