Canadian speaker manufacturer Energy, a leader in audio research and manufacturing of speakers since 1973, is launching its first pedestal soundbase. Pedestal sound bases are the easiest option if you just want to enjoy better sound from your flat screen TV. It is a plug and play box that can be installed in minutes without even reading the manual. That’s why it is very popular as compared to home theater systems or even sound bars.
The Energy Power Base as it is called is a compact, 2.1 system that provides easy placement and aesthetics. Measuring 4″ tall and built with solid cabinetry, it provides a sturdy base for your TV.
The driver array is a 3-way speaker system with built-in subwoofers. It uses separate tweeters and midrange drivers for a clear and natural tonal balance for instruments and voice, while the subwoofers with front-firing ports provide the bass extension so necessary for a solid foundation to the sound spectrum that enhances the enjoying of movie and music. Built-in Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly stream music from your smartphone, tablet or computer.
It also has a Dolby Digital Decoder with virtual 3D surround mode, features not common with other sound bars. The included digital optical connects from the back of the Power Base to the TV and the built-in Dolby Digital decoder allows for a no-hassle setup whether your TV outputs PCM or Dolby Digital sound.
Priced at $399 it is scheduled to ship in October 2013.
